We visited as a group of three couples. The house was perfect for this. Some could sleep in while others cooked, read, or played cards. The wildlife was everywhere. We saw a lyrebird, a wombat, a snake (just passing by in the rainforest - nothing to worry about) and a lot of fairy wrens. Some airbnbs are places to stay while you go elsewhere. I believe this is a place to go and be there. To enjoy the sound of nature and pop out when and if you need to. Definitely worth the stay.

Mike had the place all ready for us with the place warm and cosy, the fire set up ready to go and fresh daffodils in the rooms, thank you. The place is beautiful with stunning views and wonderfully eclectic furnishings and decor. Lots of space for us to spread out and very secluded, but only 10 minutes from Robertson. A great weekend in a great place.

We stayed at Miriam's house for my 65th birthday. We were welcomed at the house with a lovely birthday card and cake - so thoughtful! The house was amazing as was the bush surroundings and wonderful view. We had a terrific time and can highly recommend Michael and Miriam's warm and receptive communications. The Great Room was the one where we, as a family hung out and it is such a peaceful and relaxing room with wonderful views and lovely decks off it. Michael had kindly put the central heating on for our arrival and some welcoming music also. It is the most wonderful place to stay, and we will come again!!!

My husband and I stayed in 2003. Apparently we would’ve been one of the first to do so. I have thought about the house over the years but couldn’t remember the name. Finally thought to do a search of the area and was beyond delighted to see it was still on offer. It was an absolute joy to be able to return , this time flying across the country from Perth with our 2 children. Words cannot begin to describe the beauty and energy of the home. I can only hope to be able to return before Miriam makes it her permanent home. Thank you so much for creating such a magnificent space.

- Colleen, July 2023

Thank you so much to Miriam and Mike for a such wonderful stay! The house was stunning and the views were even better. Highly recommend this listing if you’re ever in need of some R&R.

- Jason, July 2023

We had the most fabulous stay over the June long weekend. The house is very well designed, maximising the views and aspect. It’s SO peaceful - surrounded by nature and wildlife. There is a lot of privacy with the room layout, with ensuites for each bedroom. We enjoyed meals/reading in the sunshine on the various decks, evenings utilising the fireplace to keep us cosy and a really well equipped kitchen to cook in. The house is quiet as it’s remote but it’s only a few mins to great restaurants, Robertson pub, Pie House etc so very well located. Mike was a pleasure to deal with and I’d highly recommend coming to stay here.

- Kate, June 2023

A wonderful place to relax and unwind. One of the best holiday places we’ve stayed at. The house had everything we needed and Mike was friendly and easy to communicate with. Our favourite room was the living and dining room which could easily fit 15 people.

- Cathy, March 2023

The house just felt magical, nestled as it is in the gorgeous bushland with a view down to the sea. Although our visit was in the height of summer, we were blessed with a week of cold and rain. This might have ruined our holiday, if not for the comfort of the house. It is well-appointed with everything you might need, and things are easy to find which is most helpful! We were a group of four friends, and the house gave us wonderful spaces to retreat to on our own as well as be together. We will definitely be coming back!

- Kristen, January 2023

Can’t fault, loved every minute.
Wow, this magnificent property did not disappoint. We were hoping for a relaxing break and that began the minute we walked in. Everything is here to ensure a restful and enjoyable holiday from the magnificent wood fires to a whole wall of books. We found time to read, talk and thoroughly unwind. Our dogs loved it too - new sniffs and lying in front of the open fire was an absolute treat for them. It’s so beautifully maintained and managed, we will definitely be back. Thank you to Miriam and Michael, you were a pleasure to deal with.

- Jain, July 2022

A stunning house in a magical location. We were in awe as soon as we walked through the door. A secluded house with amazing views that felt very homely. Well designed throughout - the great room was a stand out and the kitchen was a dream to cook in. Highly recommend to add onto your bucket list.

- Sally, December 2022

We absolutely adored this place! Such a wonderfully curated home with spaces for gathering and spending time alone. We loved the views to Shellharbour from all balconies and to soak in the tree tops, hear the wind through the leaves, the superb lyrebirds and to watch the sunrise. More than comfortable this place was like a big hug from a dear friend.

- Alejandra, July 2022

Peaceful and comfortable. This is a fabulous venue for family gatherings - accessible from different areas and spacious. Something about this place makes us all a bit creative!

- Sarah, December 2021

WOW. Incredible house, location and views. The house is so much bigger and more grand than we expected yet cosy and warm. Great for families or group of friends (big or small). Mike was an excellent communicator and instruction to get to the property was precise and so helpful. Fab experience.

- Emily, November 2021

A truly beautiful house with the most spectacular views. We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was so interesting and eclectic but wonderfully warm and welcoming. The views from sunrise to sunset were amazing - as were the stars after dark! The bush land setting was so peaceful although the lyre bird, wombats and black cockatoos made sure we knew they were out there. Communication with Michael from booking through to checkout was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back again!

- Anne, June 2021

Incredible home. Indescribable photos simply don’t do the place justice. The warmth and comfort of the home makes it a perfect getaway from reality. Thank you so much for the experience

- Jae, October 2021

We were so taken back by how beautiful this location was. We experienced a warm and friendly welcome and the two nights we spent were not enough. Michael was incredibly hospitable with anything we may have needed.

- Morgan, June 2021

Exceeded our expectations in every way! We spent the while time commenting on how wonderful it was! Just travelling to this amazing location was the beginning of the stress of the world melting away! Everything about this location is jaw dropping and it doesn't stop until you leave! The amazing view is the first thing before exploring the house which through every door you open up to a new surprise. Each of us had our own living quarters to escape to and we’d all meet in the main living area to enjoy everything this place has to offer. Definitely need a lot more time to stay here and absorb everything. There's nothing that hasn't been thought of and available!! The open fire was the highlight! After the view. Mike made everything simple to get us in and enjoy our time. Thank you Mike. Will definitely be coming back!!

Great Bushland Escape close to Sydney.
We booked 2 night stay away from Sydney and enjoyed the property and location immensely. It is a very large and spacious property with great views along the coast line and into the surrounding forrest. An excellent feature is that each bedroom has an ensuite and a seperate sitting area making it ideal for singles or couples sharing together. The property is secluded and private and we spotted plenty of wildlife in the area surrounding the house. It is also only a short drive to the Robertson township for supplies and meals out if desired. Thanks to Mike and Robb for providing directions, setting up the heating etc. and opening up for us, a great service.

- Rodd, November 2020

The house is unique and the views spectacular. Beautiful quiet location. Plenty of room for 3 couples or a family. Loved the kitchen as we ate in during our stay. Mike was responsive and good to deal with. Would definitely return.

- Suzanne, August 2020

Great location. Fab house.
From the moment of entering this house and stepping into the tiled gallery, it was a journey of discovery that didn't really stop over 4 days. Great views, clever design, thoughtful layout. If I ever build my own place, I'll be knicking some of those ideas. My elderly parents thoroughly enjoyed the warm luxury of their own suite, complete with heated bathroom floor, sunroom and kitchenette. Added surprise of watching myriad animals from the comfort of above. Loved it.

- Sarah, November 2019

Our jaws hit the floor in utter disbelieve at how spectacular the home is. Definitely a destination residence we would stay at again. Perfect to reconnect with friends and hibernate from the outside world. Can’t think of a single thing or convenience that was amiss. The property really is an amazing attribute to architect and the Australian landscape. Not enough words to describe our awe and satisfaction in staying there.

- Patricia, October 2019

Miriam’s home is just amazing. Such a beautiful location in the Southern Highlands with a spectacular view and facilities. I would highly recommend this fantastic home for any occasion. The home is huge and has plenty of space for two families. The property is also great to explore with lots of wildlife including wombats, kangaroos and bird life. Mike, provide great communication and hospitality leading up and during our stay. Thank you for share your amazing home with us Miriam!

- Andrew, June 2019

Be prepared to be entranced by amazing views of the sea and a bush outlook. Warm and comfortable home offering an eclectic display of art work and rustic furniture. Suited for 3 couples and offering privacy at the end of the day as you retreat to your own area consisting of bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette/sitting room .

- Sonia, June 2019

A perfect weekend. The four of us had the most magical stay in this beautiful home. We wanted for nothing, and would like to thank Michael for everything he did to make our mini break so special. From his communications before our trip, to the way the house had been prepared for our visit, we were all incredibly impressed! We will be back!

- Michelle, May 2019

The photos of this property do not do it justice, this house is SPECTACULAR! The living quarters each have their own bathroom which allows you to feel like you have your own private space within the house. There are also small kitchenettes located in each section of the house which adds to the privacy factor, you could easily have three couples staying here and never see each other. I cannot properly express how beautiful this entire property is, the view, the rooms, the furniture, all of it is simply breathtaking! Do yourself a favour and make sure you stay here, you may never want to leave.

- Rochelle, April 2019

Miriam's home is truly spectacular but more than that it is incredibly comfortable and the perfect place to spend some time with family and friends. We loved the amazing grand room, the gallery of books to choose from and the comfy day beds scattered throughout the house. Oh, and that view was amazing (day and night). Highly recommended.

- Paula, March 2019

We had a delightful stay at Miriam's place. The view of lake Illawara and surrounding bushland was absolutely stunning, coupled with the art and interior design. The bedroom apartments are spacious and the entire home is flooded with natural light. We enjoyed soaking in the sunrise every morning and sitting by the fireplace at night. With central heating, no complaints for a winter weekend. The town of Robertson is less than ten mins drive, but it was hard to stay away from the home given how beautiful it is. Thank you to Robb and Mike who made sure we had all we needed in the lead up and on arrival, including starting the fireplace. Looking forward to coming back again.

- Puimee, August 2018

Yarrawa Hill is a beautiful property - it had everything we needed, was really warm and cosy, incredibly quiet and peaceful yet only a 10 minute drive to Robertson for a coffee. We enjoyed the views to Lake Illawarra and seeing the lights at night. Lots of wildlife around the property and short walks down to the grassy paddocks to watch the wombats and wallabies was a highlight. Miriam is a terrific host and the welcome from Rob & Mike was lovely. We really enjoyed the flowers in every room. The large living area was great for a larger group yet we had three separate areas which included bedrooms, bathrooms and sitting areas. A really special property

- Magdi, August 2018

Such an amazing & unique house. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here. We stayed for a weekend and regretted having to leave. There was only 2 of us, but even for 6 people there would be plenty of space to spread out. The main living area and the views are both stunning. The house is really comfortable and the kitchen has everything you would want. We hope to return.

- Tony, July 2018

Our stay at Yarrawa Hill was such a memorable one. We rarely left the comfort of the house. Everything we could possible need was provided. The view (from almost every room in the house) absolutely captivated us. A very sincere and special thanks to Mike & Miriam. We can't wait to come back soon.

- Brianna & Chris, July 2018

Our weekend stay was a perfect winter escape, surrounded by beautiful bushland with spectacular views to the sea from every room. The house is huge, beautifully designed and cosy; two fireplaces and central heating kept us very warm. It was so peaceful and private, nothing to disturb us but birdsong. We saw wallabies and wombats around the property and a great variety of birds. The surrounding area is fun to explore - good cafes, shops and the fabulous Cheese Factory in Robertson and bushwalk at Carrington Falls. A very special place!

- Victoria, July 2018

Upon arrival we met Mike who was very helpful and showed us around – all the rooms are very spacious with unique and interesting furniture. The main lounge room has two fireplaces, one slow combustion that warms the entire room and an open fire place that had more than enough timber to last our stay. The view from all of the balconies overlook the mountaintops all the way to the coastline and was a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine! We cannot wait to come back – the house and atmosphere made us not want to leave!

- Nick & Anna, June 2018

Yarrawa Hill beautifully captures the essence of tranquility, warmth and fun. The views to the coast and private bush surrounds are amazing - whether enshrouded in mist and rain or bathed in sunshine – with balconies, massive atrium-style loungeroom and sunrooms to take it all in. The perfect place to unwind, relax in front of the fire and the bookshelves are well stocked. Although spacious, it is cosy, charming, and fun to explore. Plenty of tracks to walk, beautiful birds, and lyrebirds and wombats often waddling around. Michael does a superb job of making sure your stay is comfortable and welcoming.

- Melinda, June 2018

The reaction upon entering the main room is WOW! It is elegantly and eclectically furnished with beautiful Indonesian furniture, film and music memorabilia. The house is a wonderful mix of large spaces and private areas, light filled, and with spectacular views from the many windows and balconies of all the main rooms including the bedrooms, the house feels part of its natural environment. It does not seem to matter what the weather is like, you can observe in wonder but still be comfortable and protected.

- Des & Anne-Marie, June 2018

Generously equiped and very cosy in winter. This is a beautifully designed house with plenty of space for privacy if you want it but also a very sociable hub in the heart of the house. We stayed in winter but it was so warm, heated floors, roaring fires, electric blankets and sun streaming into every room. It was a pleasure to be there. A fair drive to most places but worth it for the peace and quiet perched on top of the hill amongst the trees. We will come back!

- Holly W, July 2016

Blissful!

We spent the long weekend in this magnificent home. It was beautifully designed & tastefully decorated. Everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay was provided. The surroundings are private with amazing views. Loved it!

- Melinda, April 2016

The perfect place to stay – serene and special with spectacular views. It has everything you could wish for with great attention to detail, is very spacious, and quiet with magnificent views across the forest and ocean. It's wonderful to relax in front of the open fireplace in the Great Room after a leisurely day exploring. Double glazed windows and central heating keep the inside comfortable, and you can relax anywhere inside or outside on the deck chairs or hammock, or watch birds in the treetops from the deck. Ideal spot for writers, artists and anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. Highly recommended.

- DW, April 2013

If you want guaranteed kangaroos and the perfect luxurious hideaway Yarrawa Hill is the answer. Take luxurious snacks, booze, food and settle in. It's superbly isolated so you will have the peace to finish writing the bestseller. Go exploring, cook up a storm, and the sea is a easy drive away. If you don't fancy cooking, nearby Bowral is awash with restaurants. The wonderful extra is the interior decoration which is so beautiful and clearly gathered with love and affection. Everywhere you look you have the perfect vista, inside and out.
